Saucer Solar Drone
Dhilan Mandaliya
Drones are something we call as UAV(unmanned Aerial Vehicles) an aircraft without an human pilot. UAVs are basically an ground controlled system means they are fully Autonomous. Application of Drones are expanding from commercial, scientific, recreational, agricultural, and other applications.IT can be used in Landways, waterways, airways or in space.
The advantage of Saucer shape is that is more aerodynamic as compared to other shapes and as it has only one rotor its quite difficult to fly.Due to is shape its having some angle 30 to 60 degree when the drone is parallel to ground.
The use of solar here to increase the endurance of the flight by transferring power to the Rechargeable battery. Well, it's difficult to obtain the optimum amount of voltage and current (V= IR).

- Rechargeable Battery(2200mAH) : A rechargeable battery, storage battery, secondary cell, or accumulator is a type of electrical battery which can be charged, discharged into a load, and recharged many times, as opposed to a disposable or primary battery, which is supplied fully charged and discarded after use. It is composed of one or more electrochemical cells.
- DC motors(1400KV) : This DC or direct current motor works on the principal, when a current carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field, it experiences a torque and has a tendency to move. This is known as motoring action. If the direction of current in the wire is reversed, the direction of rotation also reverses.
- ESC(40A): An electronic speed control or ESC is an electronic circuit with the purpose to vary an servo-motor speed, its direction and possibly also to act as a dynamic brake. ESCs are often used on motors essentially providing an electronically-generated three-phase electric power low voltage source of energy for the motor.
- KK Board: It is a microcontroller is a compact integrated circuit designed to govern a specific operation in an embedded system. A typical microcontroller includes a processor, memory and input/output (I/O) peripherals on a single chip.
- GPS Module : To configure a GPS receiver, knowing the type of chipset your GPS is using is very important. The GPS chipset contains a powerful processor that is responsible for the user interface, all of the calculations, as well as analog circuitry for the antenna
- Battery charger : which can recharge the battery from by converting Electrical energy in to chemical energy.
- Transmitter Receiver : a set of equipment used to generate and transmit electromagnetic waves carrying messages or signals, especially those of radio or television. In radio communications, a radio receiver (receiver or simply radio) is an electronic device that receives radio waves and converts the information carried by them to a usable form. It is used with an antenna.
- solar cell : A solar cell, or photovoltaic cell, is an electrical device that converts the energy of light directly into electricity by the photovoltaic effect, which is a physical and chemical phenomenon.
